5 more succumbs to covid-19 in Kenya

The Ministry of health has confirmed 246 more new cases of covid-19 in the country from a total sample of 4,149 that were tested in the past 24hrs. The cases were announced by the Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman. According to the latest covid-19 statistics the total positive cases so far stands at 32,803 from a total sample tested 429,513.

Among the new confirmed cases,5 are foreigners. Positively the ministry confirmed 160 more recoveries pushing the overall recovered cases to 19,055. According to the statistics for the recoveries,120 were on home based care while 40 were undergoing treatment in various hospitals across the country.

Sadly we lost 5 more patients to the virus bringing the country’s fatalities to 559. The declining number of covid-19 positive cases has sparked calls from a section of Kenyans demanding president Uhuru Kenyatta to reopen the economy. The ministry of health has however insisted that the covid-19 curve is yet to be flattened and has continued heeding to government’s directives such as washing of hands and wearing face masks.
