536 stranded Nigerians evacuated US, Cyprus – Minister

The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Goeffrey Onyeama has announced the evacuation of 536 stranded Nigerians from United States of America and Cyprus to be landed in Nigeria, as he made it known on his official social platform on Saturday.

According to the Minister, “The third evacuation flight from United States of America has departed Newark, New Jersey to Abuja with 324 Nigerians. The flight departed 23:27hrs on Friday 17th July to arrive at about 15:35pm today.

“Two more evacuation flights are expected from the US to Abuja and Lagos, on the 28th and 31st of this month. As Turkish Airlines flight TK 4915 conveying 212 Nigerian evacuees from Cyprus, has departed for Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

“The flight is expected to arrive Abuja at 15:05 pm local time, today, 18th July, 2020. Some of the evacuees are Nigerian students from Cyprus, Nigerian professionals in Turkey and few Nigerian professional footballers”, he said
