Following the recent rise in the spate of kidnapping in the FCT, residents of Pegi community in Kuje Area Council,once again stormed the FCTA Secretariat to demand an end to kidnapping in their community.
The protesters on Tuesday blocked the entrance gate of the FCTA Secretariat with placards, vowed not to leave the premises unless the FCT minister mobilises the contractor handling the 14 kilometer road leading to the community, back to site.
The chairman of Pegi Community Development Association, Isaac Aderibigbe who decried the recent invasion of the community where a resident was shot, while one other was abducted, berated the Administration for not showing concerns over their plight. Aderibigbe also disclosed that 8 kidnappers camps has been discovered in the forest surrounding the Community, as he called for increased security presence in the area in order to dislodge the criminals.
The Pegi community has been faced with series of kidnappings and insecurity for sometimes now. The federal capital Territory administration is yet to respond to their demands.
