Ahmad seeks second term as CAF boss

The Confederation of African Football President Ahmad Ahmad has announced his intention to run for a second term in office.

The @CAF_Online knew a lot of improvements for 4 years. I’m proud of my team’s achievements,” the 60-year-old tweeted.
“I extend my thanks and gratitude for your support and assistance in the #football in #Africa and beyond. After reflexion and consultation process, I decided to stand for re-election.”

The former Madagascar Football Association president took over from Issa Hayatou in 2017 and his tenure has been characterised with lots of controversies.

The controversies was huge to the level that Secretary General of World soccer governing body, Fatma Samoura, has to temporarily take over as the head of CAF.

The presidency election is scheduled for Rabat next March.
