The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomole has been replaced as the Party’s leader. This was confirmed in a statement made available to the media by the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC made the decision after receiving a confirmation that the Appeal Court has upheld the suspension of the Party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole by an FCT High Court pending the determination of the substantive suit.
Following the advice from the Party’s legal department in line with the provisions of Section 14.2. (iii) of the Party’s constitution, the Deputy National Chairman (South), Senator Abiola Ajimobi will now serve as the Party’s Acting National Chairman.
According to Section 14.2. (iii),of the APC constitution, the Deputy National Chairman, North/South “Shall act as the National Chairman in the absence of the National Chairman from his zone”.
This follows the recent disqualification of Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, which led to him leaving the APC for another political party yet to be revealed.
