Bala signs Bills, renames higher institutions after Bill Gate, Dangote

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has on Wednesday signed revised 2020 Appropriation bill of N129.8Billion and five other bills into law. The Executive arm had sent the downward reviewed 2020 document to the legislature for scrutiny from N167.2Billion to N129.8Billion.

Mohammed while assenting to the budget said the budget has been scaled down to meet up with the current realities of the state economy. In the document, N68,985,86535 was allocated for recurrent expenditure which represent 53% while N60, 866,458, 845 planned for capital expenditure, representing 47% of the total budget of the year 2020.

He said: “I must also commended the House of Assembly members for passing 5 other bills –public procurement bill, Violence Against Persons Prohibition (VAPP) act bill and upgrading of AD Rufai College for Legal Studies to College of Education Bill.

“Also, bills renaming College of Nursing Studies, Bauchi to Dangote College of Nursing, Bauchi. While College of Health Technology Ningi be changed to Bill and Melinda Gates College of Technology Ningi,” he said. Governor Mohammed noted that all the 6 bills have relevant importance to the development and prosperity of the state.
