Bauchi Government targets N1.5B IGR to build infrastructure

Bauchi State Government is targeting not less than N1.5Billion monthly internally generated revenue to boost its infrastructural development. The State with current IGR of about N400million which lept to about N700million in recent time had said it is engaging consulting firms to block incorporated leakages in the State treasury.

While briefing the press after the weekly Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, Commissioner for Work and Transport, Abdulkadir Ibrahim said the major capital projects would be done using the IGR. “The Governor has said that executive of projects should be done from our IGR instead of federal allocation.

“His Excellency has said that, he won’t leave the Government House the way he met it and definitely we are going to do renovation and reconstruction of the structure. He has also insisted that the money must come from IGR.” Abdulkadir also said that the Old Airport that was handed over to the State would utilised to construct quarters for commissioners, judges and lawmakers.
