Bauchi govt receives N10billion education interventions from FG

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has said that under his administration between 2019 and October 2020, Federal Government had approved over N10Billion for education interventions through Education Minister, Malam Adamu Adamu.

Mohammed said this on Monday during a town hall meeting on security issues, attended by the two ministers from the State –Education and State Industry, Trade and Investment, Adamu Adamu and Maryam Yalwaji Katagum.

While appreciating the FG’s development gestures, Mohammed said he appreciate the efforts of the central government because “I am a federalist, I have never worked anywhere”. He said Adamu Adamu, “during my time you have released over N10Billion as counterpart funding for primary education, with this we have renovated all our schools and this money came from federal government and from you (Adamu Adamu).

He said that the central government has been able to build 2,500 housing unit in partnership with the State Government. “We are not doing this as a state but by the federal government. We have never been sidelined as an opposition, we have always been carried along,” he said.

The Governor assured the youths and women of his readiness to uplift and improve their economic status.

The security town hall meeting was attended by traditional leaders, political parties, interest, youth and women groups and civil society organisations.
