Benefits of kiwi fruits

Kiwi fruits can be grown either from the stem  cuttings or seeds.Kiwi plants has male and female reproductive organs on separate plants therefore one male vine is planted for every eight female vines. A good kiwi variety can produce fruits in less than two years and can be fruitful for 35-40 years.This exotic fruit is said to have many health benefits which includes:-

1.Highly loaded with vitamin C Kiwi fruit is a storehouse of more vitamin C than  oranges and lemon.It thus helps in boosting immunity of our body.It fights aging and promotes iron absorption.

2.Antioxidant Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant,it eliminates free radicals that may result in cancer or cause inflammation.it also helps in preventing skin damage from pollution and sunlight.

3.Loaded with dietary fibre Two kiwi fruits contains More dietary fibres than most of the bran cereal It is also fat free and helps in weight loss. High fibre content helps in controlling blood pressure, cholesterol as well as blood sugar which reduces risk of getting heart diseases.

4.Good for eyes. Kiwi fruit is a good source of compound Lutein and Zeaxanthin which promotes vision.They protect the eyes from damaging effect of blue light and ultraviolet light that comes  from sun. Diet rich in this antioxidants is said to protect age related eye diseases. They slow down macular degeneration

5.Good for pregnancy, Kiwi fruit has folate. It is an important compound for optimal pregnancy. It is also packed with vitamin C that is essential for bone growth and tissue repair for the baby in mother’s womb.

6. Induces sleep. Antioxidants and serotonin helps in inducing sleep in people suffering sleep disorders. Consuming two fruits one hour before going to bed can help in inducing sleep.

7.Kiwi fruit protects against asthma Being rich in vitamin C,it lessens respiratory problems such as asthma and wheezing. Intake of citrus fruits such as kiwi has highly significant protective factor for wheezing in children.

8.Improves digestion. Kiwi fruits are rich in fibre therefore they prevent constipation and help clean out toxins from the intestines.Actinidain enzymes present in these fruits helps in digestion of proteins in the body. This enzyme acts in a similar manner as papain in papaya which is very often used as meat tenderizer. Next time when you go for shopping, don’t forget to add them to the list.
