Nigerians can now apply for the Green Card as United States President, Joe Biden, through signing of some executive orders, listed the immigrant visa restriction the former president, Donal Trump placed on Nigerians.

Recall that Trump had placed restriction on Nigerians from applying for immigrant visa to travel to the United States in February 2020. According to him, Nigerians lack authenticated data base for ease identity verification.

This reason as stated by the American Ambassador to Nigeria, Mary-Beth Leonard, led to the compulsory National Identification Number registration exercise being carried out by the Nigerian government.

As reported by Bloomberg, “The ban that Biden ended, blocked entry to most people from Iran, Syria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia, and North Korea. It also restricted immigrant visas for people from Nigeria, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, and Eritrea as well as for certain others from Venezuela and Tanzania.”
