Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga has been dealt a blow after Homabay senator Moses Kajwang shifted his position concerning the need to change Kenyas constitution. The lawmaker now supports the deputy president William Ruto and his allies who advocates for full implementation of the current constitution to solve current political, social and economic challenges facing the country.
According to Kajwang Kenya has a very good constitution which can enable it achieve it’s development goals. The ODM leader Raila Odinga’s close ally blamed the current challenges emanating from the implementation process of the constitution on the haste associated with it. In his opinion Raila Odinga said the country needed to have
prepared itself well enough to allow transition from the old constitution. He cited devolution as one function which was quickly implemented without assessing whether the counties were capable of handling the newly introduced changes. Deputy President William Ruto and his allies have been dismissing calls for a referendum aimed at making changes to the curry constitution instead they want it fully implemented.
