Brigid kosgei wins 40th London marathon.

The 40th London marathon was going to include one of the most keenly anticipated head-to heads in the distance’s history

However Ethiopia’s Kenenisa Bekele pulled out of the race on Friday with a calf injury.Bekele’s withdrawal leave s compatriot Mosinet Geremew who finished second to kipchoge in London marathon last year as the man most likely to upset the Kenyan.


Brigid kosgei is the hot favourite to make it a Kenyan double by lifting her second successive London crown.
Fellow Kenyans Vivian cheruiyot and Ruth chepngetich will be among her principal challengers though kosgei beat them convincingly to win her first London crown.

Eliud kipchoge will be chasing another record breaking milestone when he lines up today. Brigid kosgei wins London marathon for the second time  in 2hour 18 minutes 58 seconds.
Followed by Sarah Hall And Ruth Chepngetich respectively.

Brigid kosgei run the last seven kilometers with a wide smile on her face. The world record holder put down an assured performance to clinch her second London marathon title stopping the clock in 2:18:58.
