President Muhammed Buhari has reiterated his commitment to free, fair and credible elections.
He disclosed this while received briefing from Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu and Inspector General of Police (IGP), Abubakar Adamu Mohammed at the State House, Abuja on Tuesday.
He said Nigerians must be able to freely vote for candidates of their choice. “Our elections must be done in a violence-free atmosphere, devoid of intimidation or malpractices.
It is the duty of the police to accomplish this, and it is what I expect in the elections immediately ahead, and going forward.
The leadership of INEC briefed the President on the 2019 elections and disclosed that all court cases terminating at the Court of Appeal have been concluded.
