By Tatenda Marwodzi

A delegation from China Lesso Group (CLG) is in the country looking for investment opportunities in the Agricultural sector.

The firm is particularly interested in providing irrigation technology and farmer training. Led by Mr Tang Hai Bo, CLG has visited six farms in Harare, Matebeleland South, Mashonaland West and Midlands. One of those visits was to Pricabe Farm in Sherwood owned by President Mnangagwa and his family.

President and First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa gave the Chinese delegation a tour of their vast and thriving maize and soy bean crops during the festive holiday.

The President said that he is playing his part in ensuring food security for the drought laden country. The First Lady on the other hand was very jovial as she had spent some time last month in China trying to lure investors to the country. She was happy to see the fruits of her labor.

The CLG is one of the many companies that she had meetings with during her time in China.

After the tour, the Chinese are convinced that there is a lot of potential to improve farming and to train farmers in Zimbabwe.
