The gruesome murder of the 28-year-old flamboyant businessman Kevin Omwenga happened in his rented apartment at Galana suites in Kilimani. The autopsy report revealed that he was shot at a close range and that whoever did the shooting did it intentionally with an aim to kill him. The bullet cut through his heart and hit the lungs collapsing them instantly.

His elder brother Wycliffe Omwenga told the police that before the shooting, Kevin was having a heated conversation with Robert Ouko who is the chief suspect in the murder case. The gun used in the shooting however belongs to Chris Obure who was also arrested in connection with the case.

Robert Ouko and his friend Chris Obure were arraigned in court today and the principal magistrate made a major decision. The two will now spend a further 12days behind bars effective August 23rd 2020 at the Kilimani and kileleshwa police stations where they have been detained since their apprehension. This is to allow thorough investigations to be done by the police to build a watertight case against them.

It will be interesting to know whether the lady that had accompanied Kevin during the night of his murder will be called to testify in the case. From the CCTV footage, the lady witnessed everything as the drama was unfolding. Many Kenyans have been speculating that it might have been a case of a deal gone sour but that is for the police to unearth.

Kevin was the last born of the three brothers in their family. Their parents have since passed on and he was the breadwinner due to his success and connections in the business world.
