COVID-19: Claimed 2m lives, heart-wrenching, says Guterres

The Secretary General, United Nations UN, Antonio Guterres has said that it’s heart-wrenching milestone as COVID-19 now claimed two millions live in the world on Friday.
The Secretary General who disclosed this on his official social platform, as the world reached this tragic situation, he called for a greater solidarity in memory of the lost lives.
According to him, “Our world has reached a heart-wrenching milestone:Â COVID-19 has now claimed two million lives.
“Sadly, the impact of the pandemic has been made worse by the absence of global coordination.
“In the memory of those two million souls, the world must act with far greater solidarity”, he said.
The global coronavirus death toll has surpassed 2 million, while figure is double of the One million recorded in the last week of September 2020.
America is the worst-hit nation with 400,000 deaths and more than 23.5 million infections, according to Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Others in the top 10 are India, Brazil, Russia, United Kingdom, France, Turkey, Italy, Spain and Germany. Countries around the world have counted a total of 94 million cases.
