The Chief Press Secretary to Governor of Lagos State, Gboyega Akosile has appealed to Lagosians and the general public to go back to the personal safety as COVID-19 is on the rise with number of deaths in the last couple of days and hospital filling up in Nigeria.

Akosile who disclosed this on his official social platform on Wednesday, said the second wave of the virus is back in many countries, including Nigeria, while the UK, Germany and many European countries are deep in it.

He advised Nigerians to go back to its personal safety with the use of face masks, washing of hands and sanitizers, while warned not to wait for the government to clamp down on activities. “Let’s take our destiny in our hands by protecting ourselves.

“Wear your face masks in public places, Wash your hands regularly, avoid crowded places such as parties, concerts etc for now. If you must attend such events, pls observe the social distance protocol.

“Although many young people are able to kick it off due largely to their immune system, they can spread to others. Let’s be selfish about this because it bothers on our health. COVID-19 has had negative toll on our lives as a people”, he said.
