COVID-19: Oyo Records 69 New Cases, Confirmed 2 Deaths

Oyo State COVID-19 Task Force in her latest updates confirmed 69 new cases of COVID-19, with two patients discharged and recorded two COVID-19 related deaths.

According to the Task Force, “Two confirmed COVID-19 cases received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 1185.”

“Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for sixty-nine suspected cases came back POSITIVE. The cases are from Ogbomosho North (8), Oorelope (7), Egbeda (6), Oluyole (6), Ido (6), Lagelu (5), Ibadan South East (5), Ibadan North West (5), Iseyin (4), Ibadan North (3), Ogbomosho South (3), Akinyele (2), Afijio (2), Atiba (2), Oyo East (1), Ibadan South West (1), Oyo West (1), Ona Ara (1) and Irepo (1) Local Government Areas. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 2668.”

“Sadly, we had three COVID-19 related deaths in the state. One person whose sample was taken before he passed away was confirmed positive after his death. Two post-mortem tests that were done this month also came back positive. So, the total number of deaths in Oyo State is twenty-seven.”

The task force have advised the indigene of the state to, “Please call the Emergency Operations Centre on 08095394000 | 08095863000 | 08078288999 | 08078288800 or visit a community-based testing centre, if you have any COVID-19 symptoms: cough, fever, tiredness, body ache, loss of smell/taste and shortness of breath.”
