Covid-19: Zimbabwe reports 1122 recoveries, left with 164 active cases

Health authorities in Zimbabwe confirmed on Monday that 1,122 people have recovered from coronavirus in the last 24 hours raising the total recoveries to 7,627.

The southern African nation had last recorded a daily jump in Covid-19 recoveries of 1,756 people in mid-August this year. The number of active cases, however, is just 164, according to the Ministry of Health. National Recovery rate rises to 95.1%.

“Harare reported 1,114 recoveries today after following up the cases,” said the health ministry in its daily update. Also, the country reported ten new Covid-19 cases and no deaths in the last 24 hours. Of the ten new cases, all were caused by local transmission.

“Seven day rolling average for new cases stays at 17 today.” A total of 230 people have succumbed to the virus so far. The country has done a cumulative total of 235,030 COVID-19 tests to date since the onset of the disease in March.
Positive cases reported in Zimbabwe have been mild and as such have not required hospitalization.
