Covid-19: Zimbabwe reports 32 new cases in the last 24hrs

Zimbabwe health officials have reported thirty-two new confirmed cases of Covid-19 but no additional deaths. All 32 are local cases. That brings the total number of people infected to 7,951 with the known death toll still at 229 as of Thursday night.

“Thirty-two new Cases and No Deaths reported in the last 24 hours. Seven day rolling average for new cases goes up to 14 from 12 yesterday,” the health ministry said in its daily update. Results came out of 929 PCR tests conducted yesterday with positivity at 3.4%.

The number of people who have recovered from the virus increased by five to 6,446, leaving 1,276 active cases. Coronavirus has invaded all aspects of Zimbabwean life from communities to companies, which have been forced to scale down operations. The country has done a cumulative total of 233 969 Covid-19 tests to date since the onset of the disease in March.
