Your favourite Youtuber, Naledi Mallela has revealed to followers that she has been experiencing depression-like symptoms over the past few weeks.

In a candid storytime video on her channel, she opened up and said “my spirits have been very low. I overworked and I officially burned out trying to release all this content,” she admitted.

It seems Naledi has fallen into the same Youtube rabbit-hole that has swallowed up many other content creators that want to desperately keep their videos monetized. Youtube recently made it more difficult for creators to earn money, only rewarding those that upload 10-minute (or longer) videos on a regular basis. This has seen a lot of creators burning out while trying to upload a lot of content.

“It’s been emotionally exhausting and taxing,” said Naledi who has been uploading 1 to 2 videos every week. It’s also important to note that she doesn’t have an assistant and she edits her own videos which means that she works on Youtube content every single day of the week.

“I haven’t been going out to see my friends, I’ve been turning down lunch dates,” she adds.

Her followers have been really supportive with many advising her to “take it easy” or “take a holiday.” They wish her well and hope she finds a way to deal with her mental health issues.
