End SARS Protest: Buhari appeals for calmness, says reform no doubt

The Nigerian President, Muhammad Buhari has appealed to Nigerian youths to be patience and calm, adding that Government determination to reform the police should never be in doubt.

The President make this known on Friday, while receiving briefing from the Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Adamu over the ongoing of End SARS Protest and on the reform effort to end police brutality.

According to Mr President, “I am being briefed regularly on the reform efforts ongoing to end police brutality and unethical conduct, and ensure that the Police are fully accountable to the people.

“The IGP already has my firm instructions to conclusively address the concerns of Nigerians regarding these excesses, and ensure erring personnel are brought to justice” ,he said.

He noted that the vast majority of men and women of the Nigeria Police Force are patriotic and committed to protecting the lives and livelihoods of Nigerians, and Government will continue to support them to do their job.
