FG announces evacuation of 3rd batch for stranded Nigerians in US

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved third Evacuation flight for Stranded Nigerians in the USA, which will be Ethiopian Airline, flight No. ET509 scheduled to depart Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), New Jersey on Friday 17 July, 2020 by 21:15hrs and arrive Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja (ABV) by 13:15hrs on Saturday 18 July, 2020.

In a statement released by the Consulate General of Nigeria in America recently, all prospective evacuees, are to duly register with any of the 3 Nigerian Missions in the USA, and should purchase their one-way tickets through at the cost of USD 1,250,00 for Economy class and USD 2,800,00 for Business Class for adult and child fare, including taxes, with the usual percentage reduction for infants under 2yrs.

All prospective evacuees who purchased tickets should forward the name, phone number and contact address of next of kin in Nigeria to for confirmation which will be done on first come, first served basis.

In accordance with the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, all prospective evacuees must present an original COVID-19 NEGATIVE test result (not older than 14 days) at the airport of departure and undergo temperature check 4hours before departure. Any attending evacuees without stipulated test result, or a body temperature above 38 degree centigrade or any symptoms suggested of COVID-19, will not allowed to check in.

While on board, all prospective evacuees are required to be in possession of a hand sanitizer for intermittent use throughout the journey and wear face mask. Furthermore, all returnees are enjoined to adhere strictly to all instructions of Port Health Services (PHS) officials and observe other entry screening protocols on arrival.
