The Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq has handed over a total of 102 trailer loads of assorted grains meant to cater to 61,538 households as palliatives for distribution to vulnerable persons, elderly and people living with disabilities in Zamfara State.
The handing over was made when the Minister paid a courtesy call on Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State on Friday, she thanked His Excellency and the good people of Zamfara State for the warm reception accorded her and her team.
Farouq expressed her heart-felt condolences and that of the FG to the Government and the people of Zamfara State over the loss of lives and property as a result of the atrocities being committed by criminals masquerading as bandits in the State.
She assured Bello Matawalle that the Federal Government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari is doing all that can be done to rid Zamfara and other states of the menace of banditry so that people can get back to their normal lives as soon as possible.
Sadiya Umar Farouq accompanied by Governor Bello Matawalle proceeded to Bungudu LGA to flagged off the payment of CCT to 130, 764 beneficiaries from six (6) LGAs, who have been captured in the National Social Register and the payment of the GEEP loans to small business holders in the State.
