Fire engulfed Kisii county assembly offices on Friday Sept 4th. The county governor confirmed the incidence. He said,“We thank the county fire brigades for swift action to contain the inferno.” Governor Ongwae urged MCAs to take a break from county meetings as investigations into the inferno commence.
A number of residents however raised concerns over the cause of the fire with some arguing that there was a sinister motive behind the outbreak. “We are going to launch investigations very soon,l hay ordered that the place be completely sealed off. I am getting in touch with Nairobi so that we can get experts to establish what caused the fire.” Ongwae added.
It is only the Chambers that has been affected. The office of the speaker and other key offices are intact. Our initial suspicion on what caused the fire is an electrical problem however there were no crucial documents in the Chambers when the fire broke. The response of the fire department was commendable , they arrived in three minutes and within 15 minutes they had already put out the inferno. However the source of fire is yet to be known.
