Fresh sanctions slapped on Zimbabwe

The United States of America has slapped Zimbabwe’s Minister of Security Owen Ncube for human rights violations. Ncube is said to have been the mastermind behind the shutdown of the internet and deployment of security forces that led to the death of protesters. Secretary Pompeo of the United States made the announcement as thousands of Zimbabweans where marching against sanctions. The US embassy has also continually denied allegations that sanctions were causing economic problems. Both the EU and US have blamed corruption as the source of Zimbabwe’s economic woes. Over US$1 billion has been lost due to such activities. Weather the 25 October Anti Sanctions March was successful or not is still yet to be seen.
