The Senate President, Senator Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan has called on leaders in the country to take advantage of the country’s diversity to wield the required strength to foster unity, peace and development.

He made this known on his official social platform on Wednesday, the call was based on a point brought before the Senate by Distinguished Senator Emmanuel Bwacha on the recent racist killing of George Floyd by the Police in Minneapolis, USA, a situation he said Nigeria must learn from as a diversified country.

According to the Senate President, “On this floor of the Senate today, I made a call on leaders in the country to take advantage of the country’s diversity to wield the required strength to foster unity, peace and development.

He emphasized in his response to the issue that Nigerian leaders should ensure “we use and weave this diversity into strength, and this we can do by providing leadership to the Nigerian people regardless of geographical, ethnic and religious differences”, he said.
