EKITI State Governor, Kayode Fayemi has tested positive for Covid-19 Wednesday morning. The Governor announced this on his verified Twitter handle, saying that: “I took my third Covid-19 test yesterday and it came back positive. I’m generally ok and I’m already self isolating at home and receiving the best of care from my medical team. I’m delegating critical tasks to my Deputy but will continue routine duty from home.”
Media Bypass reports that seven Nigerian governors have contracted the virus while six of them have recovered. Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, Nasiru El-Rufai of Kaduna State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, Okeize Ikpeazu of Abia State, Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State have recovered from the disease.
