Kagwe Says Surge in Covid-19 Was Expected

On Thursday afternoon, the Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has said that the government had expected the increase of COVID-19 cases in the Country.

“Today we have tested 3895 samples out of which 421 are positive. The youngest is one year old and the oldest is 93 years old. 297 are male and 124 are female. The cumulative samples tested so far are 230,096. Since there are no travel restrictions like before, the government had projected an increase of positive cases in the country.”

Speaking during the daily COVID-19 briefing which was held in Nakuru, Mr. Kagwe assessed the level of preparedness in the County and launched a Primary Healthcare Strategic Plan for 2020-2024.
