A police officer on night duty in a police cell in Ruiru , central Kenya, 3kms from the capital, on Wednesday was attacked by two suspects.
The duo, who are accused of robbery with violence strangled the officer before escaping as confirmed by the area’s police boss.
“Yes, I can confirm the incident has happened. we have the information and we shall soon catch up with them,” stated the source.
Police have since launched manhunt to trace the suspects. The two were nabbed last year and there was a plan to arraign them in court next week on Monday.
