Eliud kipchoge is a Kenyan long distance runner who competes in the marathon.
He is the world record holder in the marathon with a time of 2:01:39 set in 2018 Berlin marathon.

The marathon was planned on April this year but due to the Corona virus pandemic it was rescheduled from it’s usual date.
The race is going ahead in very different form while the finish Will be in the usual place on the mall, the elitee runners Will be racing on 1.3 mile course with an additional 1,345m to cover after 19 laps.

However Ethiopia’s Kenenisa Bekele who came within two seconds of Kipchoge’s world record in Berlin last year, pulled out of the race on Friday with a calf injury.

In Bekele’s absence , Ethiopia’s Mosinet Geremew and Mule Wasihun appear most likely to take the challenge to kipchoge. Both tried valiantly in last years race.

According to the way things are right now Kipchoge is ahead though race seems to be very tight with Lemma and Kipchumba keeping kipchoge on toes.

Finally Shura Kitata from Ethiopia wins the 40th London marathon followed Kipchumba and Lemma respectively.

Eliud kipchoge fails to retain London marathon title. Vincent Kipchumba made us proud by being in position two.
