New COVID-19 variant: Canada extends UK flights suspension

The Canadian Government has extended the suspension of passengers flights from the United Kingdom (UK) for another two weeks to prevent the new variant of COVID-19 from spreading into the country.

The Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau disclosed this on his official social platform on Wednesday, while the extension lapses by January 6th, as the Canadian Government continue to monitor the situation and do whatever it takes to keep the nation safe.

According to him, “To prevent the new variant of COVID-19 from spreading in Canada, we’re extending the temporary suspension of passenger flights from the UK for another two weeks, until January 6th. We’ll continue to monitor the situation and do whatever it takes to keep you safe”.

Initially, Canadian Government suspended flights from United Kingdom (UK) for 72hours over the new variant of COVID-19 identified in the country, also decided to implement new border restrictions in order to keep Canadians and people right across the country safe.
