Nigerian Govt condemns coup on Malian President, Keita

Nigerian Government has condemned the coup plotted against the Malian President, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita that led to his resignation by the Malian Soldiers “Mutineers”, while demanded immediate and unconditional restoration of constitutional order.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama through his official social platform on Wednesday, as he said Nigerian Government welcomed the urgent activation of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) standby forces.

According to him, “The Nigerian Government unequivocally condemns the the coup d’état that took place in Mali yesterday and demands the immediate and unconditional restoration of constitutional order. We welcome the urgent activation of the ECOWAS Standby forces”, he said.
