No more strike: Petroleum Marketers

By Ifunanya Obeme

Petroleum Marketers in Rivers State have resolved never to go on strike as a means to resolve issues, but to resolve conflicts with negotiation from henceforth.

The group made the resolution at the 2020 Ordinary General Meeting of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN in Rivers state.

Executive Chairman of IPMAN, Rivers state, Obele Ngechu said the marketers have also resolved to partner with the Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, Pipelines and Product Marketing Company, PPMC and all security agencies in the state to combat criminal elements in the same line of business.

Ngechu who again confirmed that few of the trucks seized by the Nigerian army have been released said the processes for the release of the remaining trucks is in process.

Petroleum marketers went on strike last week over the complains of incessant seizure of trucks by uniformed men and the arrest of some of their members.
