NUPENG threatens to strike over incessant seizure of tankers

Petroleum Marketers in Rivers State say all entrance gate of filling stations in the state will be shutdown from 12:am on Monday 17th February 2020.

This follows complains by petroleum marketers over the incessant seizure of petroleum trucks by uniformed men with genuine petroleum products from government approved depots. The marketers claimed that a total of 14 legitimate products and trucks are parked at the army barrack for over thirty days.

The group also said a series of meetings are on the way to ensure that those trucks are release, adding that they will never support marketers who are into illegal bunkery or adulteration.

The groups involved in the shutting down of operations are; Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Licenced Independent Petroleum Products  Station Owners Association Rivers State, LIPPSOAR and Petroleum Tanker Drivers, PTD.
