A Corp member of the National Youths Service Corp (NYSC), Gloria Okonye Ukamaka, KD/20A/0769, has donated palliatives to some elderly women of Abraka community in Delta State, saying distance not a barrier for serving humanity.
This was disclosed on the official social platform of the organization on Saturday, as part of her little contribution to ameliorate the effects of the dreaded coronavirus in her community. The donor said the restriction on human and vehicular movements ocassioned by the COVID-19 pandemic was having adverse effects on the aged people which spurred her interest in assisting them.
“”From my meagre resources, I was able to distribute palliatives to at least five households. Unfortunately for me, I am a 2020 Batch ‘A’ Stream 1 Corps Members that redeployed to Anambra from Kaduna State, but yet to be posted to a place of primary assignment due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic”.
“I suppose to carry out this project in my redeployed state but because of interstate lock down I was unable to travel. So, I decided to carry our the project in my state as distance is not a barrier for serving humanity and my great country”, she said.
