Okowa gives Lebanon returnees N100,000 as stipend in Delta

The Delta State Government has commenced Rehabilitation of Returnees from Lebanon and South Africa, while handing over a cash stipend of N100,000 to some of the returnees from Lebanon. The Chief of Staff, Hon David Edevbie, who represented His Excellency the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Okowa, handed the money on Thursday, to encourage the Returnees start up small businesses.

Speaking through his CoS, he encouraged the Returnees to register and learn a skill or 2 at the Delta State vocational college was trades such as Catering, Tiling, Wig-making, Animal husbandry, Electricals, etc are taught for a period of 6months for a token fee of N1000 per month.

One of the beneficiaries, a young lady when interviewed, was extremely grateful to Gov. Okowa and said she intends starting her dream business immediately: an Indomie and pepper soup joint with the her N100,000 stipend. She also invited the government to come to visit her business after one year.
