Old Students Donate Over 2,000 Books To Alma Mater

The 1992 Set of the Anglican Commercial Grammar School, Oritamefa Ibadan, has today donated 60 leaves of over 2,000 copies of branded exercise books for the use of students and a way to give back to their Alma mater.

The Set President, Mrs. Akinrinade Sola, while presenting the donated exercise books said; “I am very happy on behalf of my set for deeming it fit to give back to their Alma mater at this precious time of the academic life of the students.”

“It’s a great feat for the set and the school. We did not forget the school as we always discuss ways which we, as a set, can come in to improve the standard of the school and contribute our quota towards given the school a facelift its deserve.”

“This is just the beginning of our projected intervention programs from the set to the school. We’ve targeted and captured the students; we will then be moving to ways of improving the school infrastructure in the best capacity of the set.”

“We believe that government alone cannot be left to the educational development of the state, old students, groups, organizations and individuals should be able to assist and partner government in taking the educational institution to a greater level.”

While receiving the exercise books that is over 2,000 in numbers, the Principal, Mr. Akin Amao, thanks the 1992 set of the prestigious Anglican Commercial Grammar School, Oritamefa, Ibadan for not forgetting their secondary education source after close to 29 years of them leaving the institution.

The principal said, “I am very happy that that the Old Students have not forget their alma mater in anyway. And that he wants the 1992 set and other sets to see to ways of improving the physical structure of the school.”

Appreciating the book donation and distribution on behalf of the students is the school Senior Prefect, Godwin Charity, who appreciate the kind donation of books to the Anglican Commercial Grammar School, Oritamefa Ibadan students by the 1992 set.

She, Charity, said, “On behalf of the entire students of this school, we say thank you, as we will also take it as inspiration to giveback to their Alma mater.”

Distributing the exercise books to the benefiting classes; Senior Secondary School 1 – 3 and Junior Secondary School 1-3, are: Mr. Afolabi Kazeem Adekunle, Mrs. Adejare Mutiat, Mrs. Raji Idayat, Mr. Idowu Olanrewaju and Mr. Lewis Temitope.

Others are Mrs. Adejuwon Gbemisola, Mr. Kayode Babatunde Ojo, Mrs. Adiatu Semiu, and Mr. Oyerinde Adeyemi who represent the National Body of the Old Students Association of the School.
