Pantami unveils multiple projects, champions skills development

The Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami has virtually commissioned twelve (12) completed projects and also flagged off digital capacity development programs for artisans in 5 different locations across Nigeria.

The commissioning was done recently, while the projects include E-library, Federal College of Education Technical Bichi, Kano State; ICT Innovation Hub, Oyo State Trade Fair Complex, Ibadan, Oyo State; E-Accessibility Centre, Govt School for the Deaf, Malumfashi, Katsina State; Virtual Examination Centre; Digital Capacity Training Centre, School Knowledge Center (SKC); Emergency Communication Center (ECC).

Enugu State College of Education (Technical), Enugu State; Elkanemi College of Islamic Theology, Yola, Adamawa State; AUD High School Ikole Ekiti, Ekiti State; Emergency Communication Center, Kano, Kano State. Similarly, digital capacity development programmes taking place in Suleja, Niger State; Lautech, Oyo State; FCE, Okene, Kogi State; NIIT, Owerri, Imo State and Benchils School, Warri Delta State were officially flagged off by the Honourable Minister, Dr Pantami.

In his remarks, Dr Pantami stated that the projects commissioned were spread across all geopolitical zones of the country in line with the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy for a Digital Nigeria (NDEPS), while reminded the gathering that His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari launched and unveiled the NDEPS on the 28th of November 2019, with the marching order to the Ministry to drive its implementation. We are committed to the implementation of NDEPS for a Digital Nigeria”, the Minister said.

Pantami informed that the projects and programmes were strategically conceptualized to key into the three (3) focused areas of His Excellency, President Buhari’s led administration, hence enhancing the security of the nation, reviving the economy and eradicating corruption through information technology.

On His part, the chairman of the occasion, Gov Mohammed Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State commended the transparency and accountability exhibited in the digital sector under the able and brilliant leadership Dr Pantami who he described as a man of wisdom. Likewise, the CEOs of parastatals under the supervision of the Ministry hailed the Honourable Minister for bringing synergy and inspiring leadership. They disclosed that most of the projects were conceptualized and implement within a calendar year.

The gathering had three (3), special guests of honours, in the person of Honourable Minister of Aviation, Sen Hadi Sirika, Honourable Ministers of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo and Honourable Minister of State for Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Aliyu.
