Parktown Boys High School Principal has reported for duty alongside thousands of teachers who went back to school on Monday the 25th May 2020 in preparation for the COVID-19 back to school campaign for the Grade 7 and 12 learners.
Gauteng Education MEC Mr Panyaza Lesufi has confirmed the principal’s return ro school today in a statement issued by the department. The principal found himself in hot water after the controversial report of the tragic death of a 13 year old Grade 8 learner, Enock Mpianzi who drowned while on a school trip.
He was subsequently suspended in January 2020 pending and independent inquiry into the tragic death which recommended that charges be laid against the said principal.
Department of Education education says, their investigations into the matter is complete and as such it was decided that, he should be back at work as there is no possibility that he may interfere with the processes.
“We will await the final report of the disciplinary hearing as well as the criminal case outcome before we can act further on this matter. Unfortunately the lockdown delayed matters and the department is compelled to respect the rights of the principal” Said MEC Lesufi.
