Police arrest man for burying grandchild alive in Bauchi

A 50 years old man has been arrested in Bauchi for burying his day-old grandchild alive in Toro Local government area.A Police statement signed its Spokesman, Ahmed Wakil said one Hafsat Bawada, 17 years of Rimin Zayam in Toro L.G.A of Bauchi reported to Divisional Headquarters in Toro that she gave birth to male child on September 14, 2020.

“She said that her father, Bawada Audu, (50years) seized the child and buried the baby behind his house. Upon receipt of this report, the corpse was exhumed and the baby was rushed to a general hospital where it was certified dead by a medical doctor.”Hafsat said, one Danjuma Malam Uba “had carnal knowledge of her” sometime early 2020 now at large. The corpse was released to the village head of Rimin Ziyam for burial, suspect was arrested and confessed to the crime,” Police said.
