Police bans use of sirens, revolving lights, spy and covered plates

The Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Police Command, Mustapha Dandaura has with immediate effect banned the use of sirens, revolving lights, spy and covered plates without the appropriate approval.

This follows the Directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu on the abuse and indiscriminate use of these facilities without appropriate approvals, The CP informed the general public that a Taskforce has been set up by the Command as directed by the IGP to ensure full compliance.

The CP also appealed to the residents of the State, particularly Banks, Companies, Private Individuals and Security Personnel except those on Covert Operations to show understanding by complying with the above Directive and immediately remove the unauthorized  and prohibited facilities or face Prosecution.

A Taskforce headed by the Officer Incharge, CP Monitoring Unit, CSP Grace Wonwu has been put in place to enforce compliance, arrest defaulters and impound any vehicle in default.
