Presidents Nyusi and Ramaphosa hold telephone conversation

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and his Mozambican counterpart Filipe Nyusi last week held a telephone conversation in their capacities as chairpersons of the African Union (AU) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Respectively.

The two heads of state exchanged information on the evolution of Covid-19 in the region, the lessons learned, and its socio-economic impact.

They also spoke about the socio-economic situation of their countries, the region, and the continent in general, as well as aspects related to the development of international cooperation.

The two leaders also exchanged information on the current security situation in the SADC, especially on the issue of terrorism and other threats, with President Nyusi updating the South African president on the security situation in Mozambique.
