The impending Lassa Fever virus which has found its way to many states in Nigeria and also claimed the lives of some of its victims have again claimed more lives in Rivers state.
The Rivers State Ministry of Health has today confirmed the death of three persons of lassa fever in the state.
The Director Planning, Research and Statistics in the Ministry of Health, Doctor Chinwe Atata confirmed this while addressing newsmen in Port Harcourt.
Dr. Chinwe however assured that the health sector is prepared to contain the virus as she advised that necessary preventive measures be undertaken to prevent the virus from spreading.
The doctor also advised health centers to apply simple trials for all patients and uphold standard prevention principles.
