SARS: End Police brutality against protesters- SERAP demands

By Oluwaseun Sonde

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has demanded end to police repression and brutality against peaceful protests, while called for action against security agents that reportedly attacked End SARS NOW protesters across the country.

SERAP made this known on its official social platform on Friday, while urged Nigerian authorities to publicly commit to standing by the victims of police brutality, and ensure that justice is no longer denied or delayed.

Also, SERAP called on the Federal Government to promptly investigate all reports of attacks on protesters and ensure that those suspected to be responsible for crimes against protesters are brought to justice without delay.

“Victims must receive effective remedies, including compensation, satisfaction and guarantee of non-repetition”, SERAP said.
