Daughter of the late legend Oliver “Tuku” Mtukudzi, Selmor Mtukudzi, paid tribute to her father by re-enacting one of his old songs. The song titled “Ngwarai” (Wise up) was released in time to commemorate 2 years since the passing of Tuku.

“Having you dad has been the greatest blessing of my life. Knowing that you are loved by the world is an even greater honor. I am happy to share this video with just a few of your many fans across the world. Rest in peace dad. I will love you forever,” she said after releasing the Ngwarai video which is a compilation of all the memories she shared with her father.

Ngwarai was originally performed by Tuku himself in the late 1980’s under the title “Ngwarai vana vangu” (Wise up my children). In the original song, Tuku was personally sending a message to his children to unite and wise up. Two decades later, Selmor has remixed the song to say that she and her siblings will follow his advice.

Selmor also encouraged his loyal fans to share their memories with the late legend. Most shared pictures of his live concerts that they attended and some printed memorabilia.
