Senate embarks on 2weeks recess to curb Covid-19

The Senate has resolved to embark on a two weeks recess to resume on the 7th of April while the recess notwithstanding, the Senate would be on hand to attend to any issue of national emergency that requires its attention to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

The Senate President, Senator Ibrahim Lawan made this known on his official social platform on Tuesday as measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus which has become a global pandemic.

He said at this point, citizens must observe the recommended measures advised by the NCDC to prevent the spread, but the Federal Government should devote special funds to fight the virus threatening Nigeria.

“It should also also give financial and other resource assistants to the state in this regard. He added that the Senate Committees on Health, Primary Healthcare and Communicable Diseases will continue to engage the Federal Ministry of Health, and the Presidential Taskforce on Covid19 to ensure a sustained fight against the virus.
