South Africa: Ramaphosa mourns Auditor-General, Makwetu’s death

The South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa has received the death of the Ongoing Auditor-General, Mr Kimi Makwetu with deepest saddness, while serving his country with dedication, distinction and integrity.The South African President disclosed this while addressing the nation on Wednesday, Ramaphosa said “our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time of great sorrow”.

He urged South Africans to continue to do what must be done to keep themselves and others safe. “Let us continue to demonstrate that we are a people of resilience and courage”.Ramaphosa appealed to South Africans to show care for one another in sorrow, sickness and in death. “It is our individual actions over the next few weeks and months that will decide the fortunes of our nation.

“The actions we must take are straightforward, but they are not insignificant. They can and will save lives. “Let us continue to work together like the great South African family that we are to restore, to recover and to rebuild”, he said.
