The saga continues, Nota claims AKA is a better rapper than KO

By Tatenda Marwodzi

In another controversy, one of SA’s most acclaimed producers and record label owner, Nota Baloyi, has come out guns blazing defending why he thinks rapper Keenan Hendricks better known as AKA was the better rapper on the 2014 song Run Jozi.

“AKA killed the song,” he said in a heated argument on IG live with artist Zingah. According to Nota, Run Jozi became as successful as it did because of AKA. He did, however, agree that one of KO’s verses are the peak of the song but that is just one small part.

Run Jozi became a club banger in the summer of 2014 becoming the most streamed hip hop song in that year. Particularly because the two artists come from different genres which made the collaboration iconic.

“KO is more lyrical on Run Jozi but the content, the weight of what he is saying does not hold a candle to the weight of what Keenan is saying,” Nota said while breaking down the song.

Popular consensus is that AKA’s flow is way better, his performance was “more provocative, monumental and empowering”.
