South African born comedian and host of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah, will be the host of the 63rd Grammy Award Show to be held in January 2021.

The news was announced hours before the nominations reveal show by the Recording Academy who said that “they can’t think of a better person to serve as Master of Ceremony for Music’s Biggest Night”.

Trevor hence becomes the first-ever South African to host the prestigious show. “Trevor Noah literally makes me feel like anything is possible,” said a fellow South African fan who is proud for the comedian’s consistent representation of South Africa at a global stage.

Noah takes over from Alicia Keys who hosted both the 61st and 62nd ceremonies after a fantastic debut performance. Though Keys set a really high standard, Noah is in high spirits and believes he was the right choice.

“I think as a one-time GRAMMY nominee, I am the best person to provide a shoulder to all the amazing artists who do not win on the night because I too know the pain of not winning the award,” he said light-heartedly.

Noah also added that he is “thrilled to be hosting this auspicious event” which will be graced by the industry’s greatest ever living icons.

Viewers can expect to have a satirical night filled with witty jokes.
